大沙地污水处理厂是为配合广州“东进”发展战略而建设的广州市第5座城市污水处理厂，位于黄埔区文冲船厂以西、黄埔东路以南，主要负责收集广州科学城、深涌、珠江涌、乌涌、庙头涌等流域的污水，总纳污面积107平方公里，规划期末（2010年）总规模45万～50万吨/日，服务人口80.6万人（未包科学城）。

　　该系统首期工程于2004年动工建设，设计日处理污水能力20万吨，采用改良A2/O工艺。厂区主体工程已基本建成，厂外收集系统仍在进一步完善中。大沙地污水处理系统建成后，将大大减少排入黄埔区内河涌及珠江的污染物，缓解河涌及珠江广州河段的水污染状况，也将减轻对城市供水水源的影响。同时，对天河区、黄埔区环境产生较大改善，对促进本地区旅游业和第三产业的发展，为广州创造一个“青山、碧水、蓝天”的环境起到重要作用。

■Dashadi Wastewater Treatment Plant

　　Situated west of the Huangpu Wenchong Shipyard, south of the Huangpu East Road, the Dashadi Wastewater Plant was the fifth such plant built as part of the city's "Expansion Eastward" spatial development strategy. It was built to collect the waste water discharged from Guangzhou Science City, Shen Stream, Zhujiang Stream, Wu Stream and Miaotou Stream of a basin area of 107 square kilometers. Upon completion in 2010, the project will be able to serve a population of 860,000 with a daily treatment capacity of 45-50 tons.

　　The first stage of the project was started in 2004 with a proposed daily treatment capacity of 20 tons, using improved A2/O technology. Currently, the major construction has been finished and the external collecting system is being streamlined. When the treatment system is put into operation, it will greatly reduce the pollutants discharged to the tributaries of the Huangpu District and the Pearl River, relieving the Guangzhou section of the Pearl River and its tributaries of water contamination and consequently harmful impact on the city's water supply. In the meantime, the project will greatly improve the environment in the districts of Tianhe and Huangpu, and boost the development of tourism and the tertiary industry, and eventually contribute to the target of building the city into one with Green Mountains, Clear Water and Blue Sky.
